What We Do

We cook delicious Caribbean food and deliver it to those who need it across Hackney. Taking the time to stop, connect and chat.

Our Mission

Carib Eats’s mission is to tackle food poverty & isolation amoungst the people of Hackney.

37% of children in London are living in food poverty, with Hackney being the third highest place for child poverty in the UK (2018). Although other food services exist, Carib Eats is the only one that provides Hackney’s notable Caribbean population with the option of the food they grew up on. Everyone should be able to embrace their heritage through their cultural food, regardless of their circumstances.

Only we are more than the meals we deliver. Carib Eats also aims to be a friendly face who can connect the community, providing conversations to those experiencing isolation due to the pandemic or personal circumstances. We take the time to stop, connect and chat.

Currently we reach 72 people a week.

Our immediate aim is to grow enough to support 130 people, reaching everyone on our waiting list. By the end of the year we hope to sell our food alongside the free food service. With Carib Eats Spice Mix’s, T Shirts and an E Cookbook also supporting our service.
